Specialization in the care of clients with „diabetes mellitus“
Since the year 2002, the nursing Gardé is a competent partner for people in need of help. We provide services of basic care, domestic supply and, since 2004, also Treatment care services. Over the years, we have gained a lot of experience and have always adapted our work to changing the nursing treatment and have given our employees continuous training and further education. Over the years we have been providing an increasing number of clients with diabetes mellitus, so it was critical for us to be able to use specially trained specialist staff for these clients where necessary.
Diabetes mellitus (colloquially also called „diabetes“), is a chronic metabolic disease that can cause serious consequences for example:
- damage to the eyes (diabetic retinopathy)
- damage to the nerves (neuropathy)
- damage to the blood vessels (increased risk of heart attack and stroke, etc.)
- damage to the kidneys (nephropathy)
- wound healing disorders (e.g., diabetic foot syndrome, necessary amputations)
That is why we work closely with specialists and wound experts in the care of clients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus in order to avoid or treat possible sequelae quickly and adequately. In terms of holistic care, we attach great importance to good contact with relatives. Our diabetes-trained staff are be pleased to offer comprehensive advice on disease symptoms, dietary habits, mobility and physical activity, and on complications and their symptoms. We are happy to inform you about possible measures according to your individual situation.
